Hey there, hi there, hello again!  It’s been a minute (17 months to be exact).

I’ve been wanting to bring the blog back for awhile, and now that life has settled down a bit (oh wait … who am I kidding?!) I’m ready to share all-the-things!

WHY start back up?

Good question. Although I love working from home, it’s left me craving creativity and connection.

Creativity – This site is a creative outlet for me, but just like a workout sometimes we don’t prioritize what makes us feel good.  I’m looking forward to setting aside time to write as a means of self-care and flexing my creativity to plan out content.

Connection – I’ve always been the chatty one at work … the girl who was first to swing over to your desk on Friday to ask about your weekend plans, and the first on Monday morning to hear all about how it went!

“How was your date night on Friday? Did you like the restaurant? OMG, did you try the specialty cocktail – AHHHMAZING right?!” … “How did the baby shower go – did she like the gift you got? That was seriously a life-savor with my kids!” … “Gah, tell me ALL about your trip – it looked AMAZING! I’m so glad you ended up booking that tour, wasn’t it so fun?!” … “Did you try that recipe? So easy right?! I see you bought that sweatshirt too – it’s literally like the softest thing ever. I’m buying one in every color!

I find myself quickly invested in other people’s lives. Like, I genuinely think you deserve to live your best life! When I find myself sharing things it’s because it genuinely brings me joy and I want to spread that joy to those around me.

WHY the hiatus?

Well, a few reasons. The initial thought for this site was really focused on sharing my love of local and domestic travel. I have tons of itineraries, packing lists and tips & tricks tucked away that I thought could go to good use if I shared them … but amidst a pandemic I was feeling a lot of opinions and judgment. It just didn’t feel like the right time to highlight my travels. Then, a lot of big life events happened: IVF loss, pregnancy, decision to sell our house, process of buying a new house, moving, having a baby, and a new job. Ooof!

WHAT is your plan?

I had big plans for my website/blog as a business and not to say that isn’t the ultimate dream goal, but this time around I genuinely want to build a connection with readers (“Hi new friend!”). I want to use my planning expertise to help you in any way I can. Provide you with ideas, advice and inspiration. In this post-Covid world (heck, how about just mom-life in general!) life can feel heavy, hard, ambiguous and sometimes lonely. I want to help eliminate pressure to plan … don’t have time to plan an anniversary dinner? Message me! Don’t feel like researching your next family vacation? Message me! Feeling overdue for a family-fun-night but not sure what to do? Message me!

Quality time is my love language, events is my profession, travel is my passion, and planning adventures is my sweet spot. Everyone deserves a little adventure in their life, and I’m here to help make that happen! For some, that may be trying sushi for the first time, for others that might be a trip to Italy. Regardless, I want to be here to help in any way I can … I got you!

WHY should I (the reader) care to read your blog?

To be inspired.  By sharing content that is relatable, helpful or fun I want to inspire you to make time for everyday adventures, celebrate the small things and turn little moments into lasting memories. You don’t have to do it my way, like what I like, or agree with me, but I hope you feel encouraged to take advantage of all this amazing life God gave us.  Find creativity in the mundane, explore the outdoors – even in your backyard, be reminded that you don’t need to take a big trip to go on an adventure, and when opportunity exists – you make the most of it.

So, welcome to my site!  I don’t care if we are strangers, besties or the last time we talked was in 7th grade, I want to hear from you!  Let’s connect in the comments or on my Instagram account @saristockhaus

Thanks for your support!
