At the end of my favorite vinyasa yoga class the instructor ends with a challenging posture and we are asked to hold that pose for a long period of time.  It’s hard.  Sweat is pouring down your face, your body starts to shake, and your focused mind starts to wonder … and then it happens, for a moment you doubt yourself and you fall out of the pose.  You failed.  But just as you begin to feel defeated, the instructor’s soft voice says, “begin again.”

The beautiful thing about yoga is it is a practice, and there is no winning, losing, gaining reps, or beating your previous time.  There is no such thing as failure … you simply, begin again.

Anyone have dejavu and remember THIS post?

Right after I decided to commit more time to building Sari Shares I accepted a new corporate position. Somewhere in the turmoil of learning a challenging new role, I lost a bit of my self-confidence which left me doubting the goals I set for myself. One being, to stay consistent with the big ambitions and business plan of this site. With each passing month and no progress or effort towards this goal I was left feeling like a total failure. I was scared to begin again because, what if I’m destined to just fail again?

So I’ll say to myself as the instructor says to the class, “throw judgment aside, lean into uncomfortability and no matter how many times you fall out of practice you can always begin again.”  For me, this time letting go of the impossible standards I hold of myself and what this platform offers, and instead to share what brings me joy … in hopes it may bring you a little joy as well.

So, what brings me joy?  Well I guess you’ll just have to wait and see. I invite you to come along in this journey and never be afraid to begin again.

Much love,

SS
