Adventures in quarantine!

As soon as the “Stay-At-Home” order hit we knew we needed to turn our downstairs junk room into usable space … so, after hours of cleaning and a call to 1-800-Got-JUNK (which I would not recommend) the space was cleared and designated a play-room, workout-space & Ryan’s new office.

It was a little dark and drab so I was on the hunt for a light/white peel & stick wallpaper to lighten up the space and add some texture on one of the walls.  After scouring the internet and reading tons of reviews I came across this easy faux brick wall paneling on Amazon.

The wall turned out AWESOME, we absolutely love it! The faux brick wall paneling was super easy and fairly inexpensive.  The texture makes it look like real brick but it is soft like foam and super durable … trust me, my two-year-old has been chucking baseballs at it and can’t make a dent!

If you are looking to liven up a playroom, office, or bedroom I would highly recommend this easy faux brick wall paneling!

Faux Brick Wall in 5 Easy Steps:

  1. Measure the wall space to figure out how many faux brick wall panels you need to purchase.  Tip: Purchase an x-acto knife and straight edge for easy cutting!  measure
  2. Start at the top left corner (or whichever area will be most visible as you enter the room).
  3. Cut out the small bricks on the right side of the first panel, and both sides of the next panel so the pieces weave together and you don’t see a seam.  cut
  4. Peel the backing to expose the SUPER sticky backside.  Tip: It’s helpful to have an extra set of hands to help guide the panel onto the wall since the paneling is so sticky.  partial wall panneling
  5. Repeat, across the top to ensure a straight sight line.  Then, move on to the next row and repeat.  Tip: If you have a 100 year old house with janky walls like we do, then you’ll likely have a bit of uneven edges.  This is no problem, because the paneling is flexible and can be stretched a bit.  Measure and then use the straight edge to finish off those final pieces, and cut around any outlets.
